Work in Progress

Below are some pictures of how Davis' room is coming along. I was working on the football wall tonight. I have one more thing on order for the football wall. When I get it, this wall will be finished. When you walk into his room the window is directly across. Above the window are his initials. I still need to get some kind of curtain. To the left of the window is the basketball wall. From the doorway, the wall on the right is the football wall and is where his crib is located. On the wall to the left is the baseball wall.

Swing Set

Tommy spent about 8 hours Friday and 3 hours Saturday putting the kid's swing set together. Maecee was so thankful. He kept saying, "thank you Daddy, thank you Daddy!" In just the last 2 days, they have already had a blast on it. Maecee and I went and got Davis a baby swing today. Davis can already climb the ladder by himself. It is pretty high. ONce he gets up there, he doesn't know what to do. He just freezes like he is afraid of being up high. Thanks Grand and Papa!

Go Raiders!

Mama and Maecee in our matching Lumberton Raider shirts. I know that is kinda dorky, but Maecee really thought it was neat. I don't have any make up on. I always put it on when I am going to work. It just saves time and the traffic is so slow and I have to stop and wait so many times that I can get it done.

Back to normal?

Well it has been a while. The hurricanes didn't do much damage to the house, just our sanity. We finally have internet back so here are some recent pictures.

The most exciting thing that happened was Davis' birthday. His birthday was on 9-11 which was the day we evacuated. His party was going to be the following Saturday, but of couse that got cancelled. Instead he had 2 small parties. One in Arlington on the evening of his birthday and then one in Lubbock at Grand and Papa's.

Maecee did not fair well during all the hurricane tormoil. She was very anxious and easily upset. She is definitely a girl that likes her routines. Davis didn't eat well during all the hurricane mess. He actually started eating baby food again....not sure what happened there? We had a little extra time when we got home before we had to return to work. We spent this time painting the new house. I will take pictures soon. The kid's rooms are cute. Maecee only needs a comforter and Davis still has two walls to decorate. I have looking for a golf picture, football picture, and some kind of shelf to put Davis' keepsake footballs on.

During our many hours of insanity on the road, we made a stop at McDonald's to let the kids have a break. This was Thursday, 9-11, Davis birthday.

That evening we made it to Tom and Akram's in Arlington and celebrated Davis birthday. Of course, Maecee wanted Davis to have an orange cake.

Maecee and Katie singing happy birthday to Davis!

What is a 1st birthday without a messy face. Obviously Davis loved his cake.Birthday party and Grand and Papa's.

For the kid's birthday, I always fill up their room with balloons.

Davis' birthday door decorations. I did not get to totally finish it do to the hurricane. Maybe one day he will forgive me.Davis on his bounce and spin zebra that mom and dad got him for his birthday. Sissy picked out some little cars to give him.Maecee loves any kind of project. When we got home, I put her in charge of throwing everything in the refrigerator away. In the mean time, Davis climbed in to sit and watch. Our trampoline after the storm. Now we have a swing set instead (thanks Grand and Papa). No more trampolines for us!

Hurricane Ike

Well no new pictures, because I am not at home to download them. We left Thursday morning due to Hurricane Ike. We are in Lubbock. Who knows how long it will be before we have electricity. I have heard 1-2 weeks or as long as a month.

New Home!

Well we are settled in our new home and loving it. Tommy starts with Lamar University tomorrow. I started my first week of school last week and it was great. The kids are still adjusting to daycare. Davis is moving up to the infant 2 class. He is now officially walking. Although, he still does a lot of crawling. I figure it is just faster for him to keep up with Maecee that way. We returned home early this morning (1:30 AM) from our first mandatory hurricane evacuation. Thankfully the hurricane hit and was smaller than was originally thought. We had a busy summer and I didn't update the blog with all of our new pictures. Here are some current ones and I will keep you updated since we are settled now.

Maecee and Davis in a old horse drawn wagon at a great park in Conroe. We went there with Amanda and Will. It was a very hot day.

Maecee with Justus and Finley. We went out to dinner with them the day before we left Huntsville to move to Lumberton. Davis couldn't keep up with Maecee, Justus, and Finley. He just sat back and munched on leaves.Davis walking outside the new house in Lumberton, TX. We played outside a lot today. I actually swept the garage.....believe it or not...it was pretty amazing! Of course the humidity got the best of me and I was pouring sweat.

This was my attempt to get a picture of the kids together. Well.....anyway....it was cute of Maecee.
